It appears that if a deal is close on the contract to demolish Tigers Stadium. I know the thing is falling apart at the seams, if there are any seams left. At the same time, I can't help but be a bit sad about this. And by a "bit" I mean a lot.

FINALLY

The Tigers have their first sweep of the year against the Seattle Mariners.

With a team the likes of the Tigers, this should have happened weeks ago. Nevertheless, I'll take it.

Ernie Harwell is going to be 90 years old this week. The classic voice of the Tigers shares his secrets to good health with the Free Press. To be sure, it sounds like Ernie is doing a lot more for his health than me.

He doesn't look it, but I thought he was already 90. Huh. Who knew? Well, I guess him...and the Free Press at least. But still.

There's something about Ernie's voice that just signals brilliantly warm and sunny summer days even in the dead of winter.
