I'm all for individual rights

But I honestly believe the entire population of this FLDS cult is at risk...especially the children. So I am on the side of the state taking the children on this one.

Apparently, a Texas appeals court is not.

Also apparently you need to pretty much kick your kid in the face while she's dying of a terminal illness and take away her dignity on national TV to get a kid taken away these days. Convincing boys to be perpetrators and girls to be victims at a young age isn't enough. Forcing girls into a culture where they aren't valued as much as boys isn't enough. Forcing girls to marry older men before they are 18 and consummate the marriage and have children isn't enough.

I'm honestly flabbergasted. First the compound turns away social workers from investigating reports of children being hidden there and nothing happens and now this.

What constitutes abuse these days?

Allegedly there wasn't solid "evidence" that the children were in imminent harm.

It continued, "Evidence that children raised in this particular environment may someday have their physical health and safety threatened is not evidence that the danger is imminent enough to warrant invoking the extreme measure of immediate removal prior to full litigation of the issue."
Wow. Just freaking wow.
