Exactly What I'm Talking About

There is a couple in California today that have wanted to get married for fifty-five years. 55 YEARS! They are finally tying the knot. One half-century after making the committment between themselves, they are finally legalizing their union.

Why are they just doing it now, you ask? Because they are both women and until now their love has not been enough to earn them the legal distinction (you hear that Dad Grace, legal distinction) of marriage. Today at 5:01 p.m. that all changes. And today, after fifty-five years of living as second class citizens Phillis Lyon and Del Martin are finally getting hitched.

And how freaking cute are they! God I love old people.

God bless you Phyllis and Del. May you spend the rest of your lives finally satisfied that the law recognizes your love just as it recognizes mine.
