The secretaries here at work today were commiserating about how one of the partners (who usually gets his way) wants one secretary on call on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
One of the secretaries, a feisty middle-aged Black woman points out that, "even the slaves had Christmas Day off."
I know dat's right. I know dat's right.

I almost wouldn't have a problem with slavery if they would have let them have unions.
They got Christmas off, but not MLK Day.
