What is wrong with people?

This story just furthers my general distrust of people and love and admiration of animals. Someone had a lab puppy and tried to crop its ears by using rubber bands to cut off circulation. The story is quite horrifying actually. The dog's ears had to be removed as they were falling off.

I wish I had the ability to take this puppy home. Such a cute young thing caught in such a horrible predicament.
