You talk about grace and intelligence

...you'd better be talking about Michelle Obama.

I'm just entranced by her right now. She's a BRILLIANT public speaker...maybe even better than her husband. She's elegant and graceful and powerful and precise.

Tonight my Democratic cup runneth over.

Jesus, she just mentioned mental health care. I think I'm in love.

I appreciated the speech, but that wasn't Michelle. Even that last "God Bless America" was forced and contrived. She had to get up there and answers her critics versus talk about why John McCain is un-American and how people should be asking "Who is the real John McCain" instead asking about Barack Obama. Not too mention, that race was left completely out of the picture. And I'm sorry, we don't live in a post-racial society and if she could mention (obligingly) the glass ceiling in reference to Hill, she could mention Barack's ascent over the evils of race in America.

I bawled my eyes out because it felt beyond words seeing a Black woman aglow among all those people and the nation, but after crying, I couldn't help but think that her speech wasn't all her words and that the Michelle I've loved since Day 1 is being forced to play the lame politik game.
